Airplane mode as the name implies let you put your computer in airplane mode by shutting off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and other similar wireless communication services. Apart from cutting off all signal transmissions, airplane mode also reduces the power consumption of the system.
You can still turn on Wi-Fi in airplane mode and if you are travelling in an airplane, you can connect to in flight Wi-Fi services if they are available to get online.
How to Turn On or Off Airplane Mode in Windows 10:
- Open the Settings app, and click on the Network & Internet option.
- From the options on the left hand side, click on Airplane mode.
- In the right side panel turn the toggle On underneath Airplane mode.
- Another way to quickly turn on or off Airplane mode is by clicking on the Network icon in taskbar notification area and then click on the Airplane mode button.
Note: To find out if Airplane mode is turned on or off, quickly glance at Network icon in taskbar notification area. An airplane icon instead of network icon means the airplane mode is enabled.
