How to Change the Display Language in Windows 10

Windows 10 comes with an option of changing the display language of the computer from English to one of 140 other languages.

How to Change Display Language in Windows 10:

  1. Open the Settings app, and click on the Time & Language option.

  2. From the options on the left-hand side, click on Language.

  3. On the right-side panel under Languages click on the already available language name you want to change the display to.

  4. If you want to add another language, then under Preferred Language, click on Add a preferred language.

  5. Choose or search your preferred language and install it.

  6. Click on the Set as default button underneath the language name.

  7. The language change has been successful, however, you will need to sign out and sign in again. Till the time you are signed in, you will continue having the same language.

  8. Press Alt + F4 keys in combination and then choose to Sign out.

  9. Sign back and your computer display language will be changed.

Disabling the Language Sync

If you are using Windows 10 on your PC with your Microsoft Account and alter the language settings, then the changes would affect the other devices that are using the same Microsoft Account.

If you want changes to happen only on your current device, you can disable the Language Sync from settings.

  1. Go to Settings->Accounts.Accounts Settings
  2. On the left pane, select Sync your settings.Sync your settings
  3. Under the Individual sync settings, toggle the button to turn off the Language preferences.
  4. Your language preference settings would affect your current device only.

Changing Region settings

If you have changed the system language because you are in a different region, you must update the region settings too.

  1. Go to Settings->Time & Language.
  2. From the left pane choose Region.
  3. Choose your preferred Region and Region Format.

    i tried signing out and even restarting the computer.

    I am trying to switch from Spanish to English.
