Windows 10 Tutorial: Personalize The Lock Screen

Microsoft has really paid some due attention to the Lock screen in Windows 10, and although it still should be familiar to any previous Windows user, there are some new options here and there.

Options that allow users to get more from the Lock screen in the operating system.

You can access Lock screen settings from the Settings panel, of course.

Go to Start, choose Settings, select Personalization, and go to Lock screen from the left-hand menu.

Here you can change the background to either Windows spotlight — which uses your internet connection to pull over random images straight from Microsoft — or select your own images and photos to be used.

Right below are options to get app status updates, where you can make your choice of the apps that will show detailed or quick status on the Lock screen.

You can also set and activate a screen saver from an option on this screen.

Once all the changes are made, you can get a glimpse of your new Lock screen by using the now familiar Ctrl + Alt + Del key combination and choosing Lock.
