Microsoft Azure Gets HITRUST Certification

Another badge for the cloud service on a roll! Microsoft Azure has very recently received HITRUST certification, which means the platform will now provide healthcare organizations a tailored framework.

One that incorporates the specific security, privacy and regulatory requirements that guarantee industry best practices.

The company announced this last week, confirming that it has achieved one of the most widely recognized accreditations in the healthcare industry, which also ensures compliance with HIPAA/HITECH, PCI, ISO 27001 and MARS-E.

In the words of Ken Vander Wal, Chief Compliance Officer, HITRUST:

“HITRUST has been working with the industry to ensure the appropriate information protection requirements are met when sensitive health information is accessed or stored in a cloud environment. By taking the steps necessary to obtain HITRUST CSF Certified status, Microsoft Azure is distinguished as an organization that people can count on to keep their information safe.”

With this HITRUST CSF certification, healthcare industries and professionals can confidently and securely leverage Azure services, and a range of such services are included in this certification.

Including Identity and Access Management, Compute, Networking, Analytics, Hybrid Integration, Web & Mobile, Management & Security, Media & CDN, as well as Data & Storage. You can review the full expanded list at the link above.
