Windows 10 Tutorial: Reduce System Sounds For Calls

Another handy feature that built into Windows 10 is the ability to automatically reduce system sounds when doing computer based phone calls and other voice communication.

The operating system basically automatically adjusts the volume of different sounds when you use your PC to place or receive phone calls.

This is great, for example, to prevent the music you are listening to interfering with the calls. You can set it up so that the volume level of system sounds is automatically reduced when a call is underway, and this can be done from the Sound panel.

Right-click the speaker icon in the notification area and select the Sounds option.

Move to the Communications tab, and you will be provided with three options to either reduce the volume or completely mute the sounds.

Select the one you prefer.
